Miami does not do things at a moderate volume. This summer, Hard Rock Stadium is hosting seven FIFA World Cup matches. Miami ranked as the most in-demand U.S. host city for group-stage ticket sales, which is about the most Miami sentence you can write. Three miles away, Hard Rock Live is running a comedy lineup that keeps pace.
The season opens with two shows on May 15. Ali Siddiq plays James L. Knight Center. Siddiq is the Houston-born comedian who came up performing prison comedy shows while actually incarcerated, and his storytelling has a specificity that sets it apart from basically everything else in stand-up. Knight Center tickets here. Same night: Bill Burr at Hard Rock Live. This is the guy who once lectured an entire Philadelphia crowd for 12 minutes while being booed and somehow turned the room around. Hard Rock Live tickets here.
May 17: We Them One’s Comedy Tour at Hard Rock Live. A multi-comic showcase that’s been selling out stops across the country. Tickets here.
May 22, for something on the smaller side: Shane Todd at Hollywood Improv (The Lab) with Hold Me Back. Todd is one of those working comics with a relentless touring schedule and an audience that shows up wherever he is. Hollywood Improv tickets here.
May 24: Jeff Dunham at Hard Rock Live. Dunham has been doing ventriloquist comedy longer than most of his current audience has been alive, and his touring numbers are genuinely hard to argue with. Tickets here.
May 26: Weird Al Yankovic at Hard Rock Live. Al is still touring, still excellent, and his catalog has somehow aged into being completely timeless. An accordion-based comedy show one week after Bill Burr. Miami contains multitudes. Tickets here.
June 26: Matt Rife and his Stay Golden World Tour at Hard Rock Live. Rife has been one of the more talked-about comics of the last two years, for reasons that involve both talent and the internet, and his live show leans into both. Tickets here.
July 10: Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias at Hard Rock Live, bringing the same warmth and absurdity and crowd stories that sound impossible but are apparently all real. Tickets here.
For the weekly regulars: Thank You Miami Stand Up Comedy Show runs every Monday and Friday at Thank You Miami Cocina & Beer House. Free to current pricing local showcase, quietly great. Blackbird Ordinary’s TOO LIT Tuesdays and SO LIT Saturdays are the other recurring fixtures, both free to current pricing and worth it when you want to catch someone before everyone else figures it out. Thank You Miami here, Blackbird Ordinary here.
September 18: Nikki Glaser, The Stunning Tour, at Hard Rock Live. Glaser has had a remarkable 12 months and this tour is her doing the whole thing again, on her terms. Tickets here.
