About the Performer
DeRay Davis is a Chicago-born comedian, actor, and entertainer who has built one of the most dynamic careers in stand-up comedy. Raised on the south side of Chicago, DeRay transformed a tough upbringing into razor-sharp, street-smart comedy that resonates with audiences everywhere.
His debut Netflix special DeRay Davis: How to Act Black (2017) was so popular it reportedly crashed the Netflix server twice. He also starred in the Showtime special DeRay Davis: Power Play and has appeared in over 32 feature films alongside stars like Will Ferrell, Eddie Murphy, Channing Tatum, and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
On television, DeRay is known for his recurring role on the FOX hit Empire, multiple seasons of Nick Cannon’s Wild ‘N Out, and the FX drama Snowfall. His comedy is raw, relatable, and always evolving — no two shows are the same.
