Mohammed "Mo" Amer is a celebrated Palestinian-American stand-up comedian, award-winning writer, and actor who has become one of the most important voices in comedy today. Currently starring in the acclaimed Netflix series MO, a semi-autobiographical show that earned a rare 100% on Rotten Tomatoes from critics and was named one of the best shows of 2022 by The New York Times and NY Magazine.
The series garnered Amer a Gotham Award, a 2023 Peabody Award, AFI Honors, and a Television Academy Honor. Mo is currently on his El Oso Palestino Tour, bringing his signature blend of personal storytelling, cultural commentary, and sharp observational humor to audiences across the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
Known for his global reach — having toured in over 40 countries — Mo Amer's stand-up specials The Vagabond, Mohammed in Texas, and Wild World are all available on Netflix. He also co-starred with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in the DC blockbuster Black Adam.
Event DetailsThe San Jose Improv is the Bay Area's premier comedy club, located in the heart of downtown San Jose at 62 S Second Street. Part of the legendary Improv comedy club chain, this intimate venue seats approximately 250 guests and delivers an up-close, personal comedy experience unlike any large theater.
The club features a full bar and dining menu, with a mandatory two-item minimum purchase per person in the showroom.
