About the Performer
ALOK (they/them), also known as Alok Vaid-Menon, is an internationally acclaimed poet, comedian, public speaker, and actor whose dynamic presence has captivated audiences in over 40 countries. Their literary works — Beyond the Gender Binary, Femme in Public, and Your Wound, My Garden — have garnered global recognition and critical acclaim.
ALOK has performed sold-out shows at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and the Netflix is a Joke Festival. Their first comedy special, BIOLOGY!, was executive produced by Christopher Guest. They are also the subject of the docu-short ALOK, executive produced by Jodie Foster and directed by Alex Hedison, which made its debut at the Sundance Film Festival in 2024.
On screen, ALOK can be seen in Complicated Order, The Trans List, and on television in HBO’s Sex Lives of College Girls, Sort Of, Random Acts of Flyness, Hulu’s Planet Sex with Cara Delevingne, and Netflix’s Gender Agenda Comedy Special and Getting Curious with Jonathan Van Ness.

Laugh Out Loud Comedy Club is San Antonio’s premier stand-up comedy destination, conveniently located in Park North Plaza at Loop 410 and Blanco — just inside the loop and only a few miles from the airport.
The club features a full bar lounge where guests can grab a drink before the show, and a comfortable showroom with first-come, first-served seating. Preferred Tables are located center stage for the best views, while General Admission tables are positioned on the sides and wings.
There is a 2-item food or beverage minimum per person once seated, and an 18% service charge applies to all checks in the showroom. Early arrival is strongly recommended to secure your preferred seating.
